POSITION: Automotive Technology Instructor
At Long Beach Poly High School we have a wonderful auto shop facility and a great teacher. Unfortunately at the end of the
year the teacher will retire. The shop has an in-order shop area and an outside covered work bay large enough for seven cars.
The class schedule consists of:
4 - Autoshop 1-2
1 - Autoshop 3-4
1 - Autoshop 5-6
We accept transfers from other schools and give them full credit for their experience.
For those who have not taught before or who have other experiences we take that under consideration when we place them on
the salary schedule.

Position Description:
position in the Diesel Technology program. Primary responsibilities will include developing curriculum and teaching a
wide range of diesel and ag maintenance courses. In addition, the individual must be able to develop respect and rapport
with dealers, repair shop owners, and technicians in the state. Additional responsibilities are those generally expected of

Position Description:
The Community College of Philadelphia offers over 70 different degree programs and is one of the largest
education providers in the city of Philadelphia with over 40,000 students.
The Automotive Service Technology Curriculum leads to an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree.
The automotive industry has undergone a parts and service revolution. The increased complexity of the modern automobile
has created a demand for highly skilled, technologically advanced automotive professionals.
The Automotive Service Technology Option prepares students to work as mechanics, safety inspectors and shop
supervisors. The skills courses provide experience with the most modern diagnostic and repair equipment. The
general education courses are transferable to some baccalaureate degree programs in engineering and vocational
education. Graduates are also prepared to take the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence Certification
examinations. This Program is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).
For this position a:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or Technical Field preferred; Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology required
ASE Master Automobile certified.
5 years of experience as a Service Technician required.
Commitment to participating in the intellectual life of the department, and a willingness to participate in the life of the College
through leadership in department and college-wide committees.
College teaching experience desirable, preferably at the community college level.
Experience in developing distance education and web-enhanced courses and programs desirable.
