Outstanding Automotive Training Programs Honored by AIPC
Press Release
On December 12, 2007 twenty three top automotive training programs were honored by the Automotive Industry Planning Council (AIPC) during the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) convention held in Las Vegas. The annual awards banquet spotlights state and national winners of the Automotive Awards of Excellence competition. Over $330,000 in prizes were provided to the winning schools by American Honda, National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), ATech Training, Chrysler, North American Council of Automotive Teachers (NACAT), and Automotive Service Association (ASA). The banquet itself was sponsored by ATech Training, American Honda, and Chrysler.
“These awards acknowledge some of the very best automotive training programs in the country,” said Fred Hines, ATech Training, Inc. President and AIPC Chair. “AIPC is proud to be able to recognize these programs and their instructors. They all share a commitment to excellence that makes them stand out.”
Automotive Training programs were encouraged to enter the competition by downloading the application form from www.autoipc.org, putting together application materials as instructed, and sending their entry directly to AIPC. A national winner and two runners up, as well as state winners, were selected in each of three categories: Secondary, Post Secondary and Post Secondary – Manufacturer Affiliated (ASEP, CAP, ASSET, T-TEN, PACT, etc.). A list of all 2007 state and national winners is attached.
The Automotive Industry Planning Council is a national advisory group of industry leaders, vocational/technical educators, and educational policy makers whose mission is to promote communication, cooperation, and excellence in automotive service training programs.
